Eerie pumpkin carving designs!
A toothy grin is always fun – but why not get extra creative this year with our Halloween competition and the chance to WIN £250!!
We’ve scoured the internet to come up with the creepiest Halloween pumpkin creations to get you started with some ghoulish ideas and ensure yours is the spookiest on the street.
But first, let’s start with the basics….

Pick with Purpose
Pumpkins come in all shapes and sizes so you will have lots to pick from. To get the best carving experience, choose wisely and think of the pumpkin design you want to create, will you be going for a small misshapen pumpkin, or a large round one?

Make the cut
But not too soon… pumpkins start to go off as soon as you cut them, so we would recommend only carving 7-10 before Halloween if you want your pumpkin to last.

Start scraping
Next is the icky bit, with your parents help, cut a hole around the stalk at the top of the pumpkin and scrape out the insides, yes seeds, pulp – it all has to come out – we know this bit is super gooey (but also very fun).

Save the seeds
Separating the seeds from the pulp and baking them creates a super healthy and yummy snack – so make sure you don’t throw them away!

Design Time
Once your pumpkin is clean, it’s ready for carving… if you are a pumpkin pro then you might feel comfortable carving freehand, however if you want to try something slight more intricate then using a stencil is sure fire way of getting a near perfect design.
